So, I first arrived at the Boston Airport all excited to begin my journey, however British Airways had other plans. Sarah and I ( another girl going to the same university as me, so we decided to fly together) met up at the airport. Our original flight was delayed an hour, which meant that we would miss all of my connection flights. So they placed us on a delta flight. Which left 6 hours after our original flight would have left. Fine, whatever. I don't care as long as I get there. So we finally get on this flight which will first take us to Atlanta then to Johannesburg South Africa and from there to Gaborone Botswana. Because it was British Airways fault we were suppose to be able to spend the night for free in a hotel because our last flight left early the next morning. The flight to Johannesburg took 14 hours, and I managed to watch 3 films, sleep, and play some games. Once we arrived in Johannesburg it turned out that British Airways couldn't or what I suspect wouldn't give us vouchers to spend the night in a hotel. This forced Sarah and I to get a hotel room on our own.

The first thing I think when I see this hotel aptly named the Airport Inn Bed and Breakfast (It was close to the airport AND it served breakfast) was that I was seeing a genuine African hotel, or at least what I imagined it to be. It was a small painted yellow building with palm trees in front of it and seats where you could enjoy the weather.

The lobby was small and simple. Inside it stood a single cash register and oddly enough a dry erase board where you could write comments on it. It even claimed to have a pool.
This "pool" was the size of a kiddy pool. But I admire them for even having one. They knew that if they put pool on the advertisement they would get costumers, but that didn't mean it had to be big.
Once Sarah and I had checked in it was time to get to our room and degrossify ourselves after such a long journey. The rooms were small, just barely big enough to fit two people. But it got the job done. At that point in time Sarah and I wanted nothing more than to take a hot shower and sleep in a bed. While we didn't get our hot shower, the sleep we had that night was blissful.

The next morning Sarah and I caught our 7:00 am flight to the Gaborone Airport, which is apparently so small that only a select few airlines fly into it. We got into Gaborone, went through customs got picked up and finally made our way to the University of Botswana. After 3 days of traveling we made it. Here are just a few pictures of Gaborone at a glance:
